My Story
Passionate, prepared and relentless. Those adjectives not only describe Memo's approach to his defense practice, but they also describe Memo's approach to life in general. Whether it is passion for boxing, jumping off barges into frigid fjords, or suffering through extreme endurance events around the world, Memo is always eager to push himself. His approach to the courtroom is no different--he is always looking and ready for a challenge.
Guillermo “Memo” Tijerina is originally from San Antonio, Texas. Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Memo has successfully defended all types of cases at trial: personal injury defense, commercial motor vehicle accidents, premises liability (slip-and-fall) cases, and first-party insurance claims. Despite trying several cases a year to valley juries, Memo always strives to resolve cases outside of the courtroom.
Memo earned two degrees from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. While in law school, Memo excelled in, among other courses, trial advocacy and the law of medical malpractice. During his time in school, Notre Dame's trial advocacy program was ranked in the top five nationally by U.S. News & World Report.
Memo is married to Mia Tijerina, and they have four children. Memo is active in his local church, Our Lady of Sorrows. Besides competing in amateur boxing, he has completed an Ultraman triathlon, and numerous Ironman and half Ironman races. He also competes in extreme (Xtri) triathlons, and various long distance charity cycling rides (including the Spina Bifida 250 mile ride between McAllen & San Antonio, Texas).
