Cassandra Hernandez-Castillo

My Story

Cassandra Hernandez-Castillo is an accomplished civil defense attorney with a strong connection to the Rio Grande Valley, where she was raised. She attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned degrees in Journalism and Communication Studies. While there, Cassandra honed her skills in advocacy and clear, persuasive communication. She then went on to earn her law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law.

After law school, Cassandra returned to south Texas to give back to her community. She served as a prosecutor for over six years in Hidalgo and Webb Counties. As a prosecutor, Cassandra was assigned to eight different courts. She  tried to verdict numerous criminal jury trials from misdemeanors to capital murder cases. Her work as a prosecutor provided her with valuable insights into the complexities of the legal system and strengthened her commitment to our system of justice.

Today, Cassandra applies her background in both prosecution and communication to her work in civil defense, representing clients with strategic and effective advocacy. She is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients and making a positive impact in the community, which she is proud to call home.

In her spare time, Cassandra loves to travel to see live music and spend time with her family, especially her husband and two dogs.
